Ryan Spillane, born 6 May 1997, is an Irish mixed martial artist. He won a bronze medal in both the 2015 IMMAF European Heavyweight Championship and the 2017 IMMAF World Heavyweight Championship. In 2018, Spillane won gold medals in both the IMMAF European Heavyweight Championship and the IMMAF World Heavyweight Championship. Ryan started his MMA career in 2012 at 15 years of age. He continued training on and off until 2014 when he decided to focus on rugby, and working with the Munster Development Squad. Spillane came back to MMA in 2015, making his amateur debut weighing in at 118kgs and dedicating his time to the sport full-time ever since training out of SBG Cork City and being actively trained by Liam Og Griffin and SGB Ireland head coach John Kavanagh.
Ryan “The Hulk” Spillane won gold at the IMMAF World Championships in Bahrain this year and is also the IMMAF European Champion becoming a double champion at the age of 21. All with all three wins on the IMMAF worlds coming via stoppage with Ryan also showing his notable submission talents.
After climbing to the top of the amateur Heavyweight world Ryan plans to make his pro debut in 2019.
